      In order to provide a platform for parents to communicate, share experiences, support one another, and become a new generation of parents with "lifelong learning and self-improvement", our school has organised the ‘Seed’ Parents’ Programme for many years. There has been a lot of positive and encouraging feedback from parents. 

       Mr. KWOK Kai-chun Remus, the Service Supervisor in the ‘Positive Education Laboratory’ of City University of Hong Kong is specially invited to be in-charge of the parents’ workshop this year. The theme is [How to adopt “Positive Parenting Skills” to tackle the challenge of new normal with your children]. The workshop is free of charge and the details are as follows:

8/3/2021, 22/3/2021, 12/4/2021 and 26/4/201 (Monday)

Time:

7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Theme:

[How to adopt “Positive Parenting Skills” to tackle the challenge of new normal with your children?]

Contents:

Life under pandemic is full of challenges. School life of our children is also having dramatic changes. While our children are still getting familiar with the new normal of school, parents may also have a lot of worries and confusions towards the changes. When parents are exhausted, there is a way to build up children’s positive habits and resilience without affecting parent-child relationship. The purpose of the workshop is to help parents to develop positive parenting skills through introducing Positive Psychology.  Details of the parents’ workshop are as follows:

1.     Establishing positive languages through the use of character strengths (To build up positive images through the use of positive language)

2.     Building positive emotion (To understand the needs behind each emotion)

3.     Positive parenting with gentle and firm attitude (To improve problematic behaviors of children)

4.     Self-repairing (To learn self-compassion, allow yourself to rest and have the strengths to face the challenges together with your child)

Mode:

Lectures, group discussions and role-play activities, etc. (The workshop will be conducted online in ZOOM.)

Facilitator:

Mr. KWOK Kai-chun Remus (Registered Social Worker, Master of Clinical Social Work) and his team members.

Mr. KWOK currently works as the Service Supervisor in the ‘Positive Education Laboratory’ of City University of Hong Kong. He has provided staff trainings, parent talks and consultant services for over 400 organisations and schools since 2013.

Quota:

60 (Student Family Units), those are able to attend all 4 sessions will be admitted first.

Credits of the ‘Parent Academy’:

20 credits for parent attending each session of the workshop, extra 10 credits for 2 parents attending; and extra 20 credits for full attendance of 4 sessions of the workshop
