To further support parents’ overall well-being, as well as raising awareness of the importance of mental health, our school held the Parent Mental Health Day on 24th October 2026 (Saturday). The activity received an overwhelming response from parents, attracting 67 participants.

Our school was pleased to invite veteran registered social worker Ms. FOK Fong-ting (from the ELCHK Sheung Tak Integrated Youth Service Centre) to share about “Parental Mental Health & Parenting”. She encouraged parents to prioritize self-care while equipping them with practical strategies for stress management and emotional regulation.

Parents were also divided into groups and participated in one of the four experiential workshops: the “Pickleball Experience Workshop”, the “Myofascial Release and Muscle Stretching Workshop”, the “Cooking Workshop: Artisanal Handcrafted Pizza”, and the “Mindful Leathercraft Workshop”. This meaningful activity enabled parents to relieve stress, regulate emotions and deepen their understanding of mental health.

The ‘Secondary School Tour 2026’, organised by the Federation of Parent-Teacher Associations of the Sai Kung District, reached Sun Kei on 24th October (Saturday). The event attracted some 450 Primary 6 students and their parents in the Sai Kung district to visit Sun Kei, creating a lively scene.

In the Assembly Hall, our guests were introduced to Sun Kei’s style through an introductory video, a flute quartet performance and two English public speaking performances. Principal Mr. HO Chun-yan also shared our school’s educational philosophy and answered the guests’ questions with our Vice-principals, allowing the primary school students and their parents in the Sai Kung District to get to know our school in depth.

The lunchtime book sharing session, themed “Unlocking the Secrets of Bones: My Alternative Friend for Life and Death” was successfully held on 14th October 2026, attracting about 125 students, resulting in a full house.

We were highly honored to invite renowned Forensic Anthropologist Ms. Lee Hin-shin to share her insights. During the session, Ms. Lee introduced students to the field of forensic anthropology and its fundamental concepts in simple terms, guiding students to understand the “language” of the deceased and piece together their stories while alive. Through sharing real-life case studies, she demonstrated how Forensic Anthropology grants the deceased dignity and guided students to re-examine and reflect life’s deep values. At the end of the session, Ms. Lee introduced her wonderful books, sparking students’ interest in Biology and reading.

To strengthen home-school cooperation, our school held the ‘Parent Volunteers Orientation Gathering’ on 7th October, 2026, attended by 65 parents.

During the gathering, veteran and new volunteers gathered and got to know each other. The former shared their precious experiences and introduced various activities planned for the upcoming year. Finally, Principal Mr. HO Chun-yan presented the Certificate of Appointment to the parent volunteers and expressed his sincere gratitude to them for their full support of the school. We wish that the parents and the school will continue to work together closely to nurture children’s growth for the upcoming year.

This school year’s S.1 Parents’ Night was successfully held on 2nd October, 2026, with a total of 182 parents in attendance. 

We were honoured to have Ms. FOK Fong-ting, a veteran registered social worker and a certified lecturer of ‘6As Positive Parenting’ (from the ELCHK Sheung Tak Integrated Youth Service Centre), offering her professional guidance to parents about letting go and encouraging children to take responsibility for their own life.

After the lecture, parents moved to the S.1 classrooms to meet the class teachers in person. They had exchanges on students’ school life, academic performance, studying methods, and healthy habits, enhancing mutual understanding and trust between parents and teachers.

Congratulations to Sun Kei students on their outstanding performance in the 2026 DSE examination. The number of our candidates enrolled in university degree programmes stands at 93, accounting for 83.8% of all Sun Kei participants in the examination.

To commend alumni with excellent performance, a Prize Giving Ceremony was held on 30th September, 2026. We were honoured to invite Mr. LEUNG Chi-kwan, the Sponsoring Body Manager of the Incorporated Management Committee of our school, to present scholarships. An alumni-sharing session was also organised to encourage students to strive for excellence and pass the torch.

This year’s Student Leaders Inauguration Ceremony was successfully held on 28th September, 2026.

Firstly, after the outgoing Head All-round Leaders ‘Nexus’ reported on their work in the past year, the incoming Head and Deputy Head All-round Leaders of ‘Ethereal’ announced their plan for the upcoming year. The newly elected cabinet of the Student Council ‘Kairos’ also gave their briefing on stage.

Afterwards, the outgoing All-round Leader team and Student Council handed over their banner to their successors. Incoming leaders of other student groups were also awarded the Certificate of Appointment and the banner. Led by the new Head All-round Leaders and the President of the Student Council, all the student leaders took the oath together, pledging to contribute to the School, serve their schoolmates, and become responsible youth leaders.

The 13th Swimming Gala was successfully held at the Tseung Kwan O Swimming Pool on 25th September 2026.

Swimmers from every class participated actively, demonstrating their skills and a new school record was set. In the end, Class 4M won the Principal Cup (overall champion among all Forms). Teachers also participated in a rubber boat volleyball activity and had fun together with the students.

Our school was honoured to invite Ms. CHAN Oi-yin, a triathlon athlete, as our guest of honour. Sharing her own experiences, she encouraged students not to give up while facing challenges and motivated fellow students to strive for excellence in the coming DSE.

Highlights

The 2026 Moral Education Day was successfully held on 18th September, 2026. Themed ‘Grow Strong, Go Beyond’, the ‘My Pledge to Act’ Launching Ceremony aimed to encourage students to establish attainable goals and to form close companionships.

We were honoured to have Mr. CHEUNG Tat-cheong Cooke, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of St. James’ Settlement as our officiating guest. He encouraged students to have a positive state of mind, and to cultivate strong grit, patience, and passion in pursuing their goals. 

After that, student representatives from Form 1 to Form 6 shared how they would realise the spirit of ‘Grow Strong, Go Beyond’, before leading all students in reciting the ‘Pledge to Act’ and representing each Form in signing the Pledge under the witness of the officiating guest, the Principal, and the Vice-Principals. Finally, teachers and students in the Assembly Hall sang motivational songs together, bringing a memorable close to the Launching Ceremony.
