Sun Kei students performed with excellence in the 2026 HKDSE examination. The number of SKSS candidates meeting the 332A22 entrance requirement for university degree programmes stands at 93, accounting for 83.8% of all Sun Kei candidates in the examination.

To enhance students’ ensemble skills and foster musical exchange, our school was honoured to invite the Symphonic Band from St. Joseph’s Anglo-Chinese School to jointly perform in the “Joint-School Symphonic Band Concert,” which was held successfully on 30th June 2026. Students from both schools actively prepared and performed with excellence, forming a deep musical bond and meaning connections.

Our school’s sports team participated in the “Huizhou Sports and Cultural Exchange Tour” from 25th to 28th June, 2026. During the tour, students had track and field, and basketball training at the Huizhou City Sports School, a prestigious institution dedicated to cultivating high-level competitive sports talents. Students also visited the Huizhou Olympic Stadium and engaged in a friendly basketball match with peers from the Huizhou school.

Receiving professional guidance and using advanced equipment, students had all-around and highly efficient training. They enhanced their overall abilities, cultivated their sportsmanship and developed their personal potential. Students also had in-depth communication with local athletes, learning from each other and forming meaningful connections. They also experienced the country’s advancement and development in sports.

Highlights

To foster students’ interest in the Chinese Language through scriptwriting and staged works, the Hong Kong Educational Publishing Company Ltd. organised the “Our Home, Our Life Story Writing and Performing Competition 2026”. The competition encouraged students to write about their daily lives and transform their feelings into written words and dramatic performances, all the while developing their creativity and communication skills.

After the inter-school competition, our school selected four groups of students’ videos to participate in the qualifying round, and received the “Most Active Participating School Award’. Highlights

Led by 12 teachers, our S.5 students participated in the Citizenship and Social Development Foshan Study Tour from 25th to 26th June, 2026. The tour featured a visit to various cultural and historical landmarks in Foshan, including a ceramic tile-making workshop at the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, and visits to the Foshan Hung Sing Kwoon, Foshan Lingnan World, Shunde Ancestral Hall, Cantonese Opera Grand View Garden and the Cantonese Opera Art Museum. The visit deepened students’ understanding of Lingnan’s historical and cultural development, reinforcing the sense of national identity in students.

Highlights

Co-organised by the Hong Kong Chinese Culture Development Association, the Confucian Academy and the Filial Piety Association, “The 20th Filial Piety Essay Competition” aimed to encourage teenagers to express their gratitude to their parents and elders through writing, thereby promoting the spirit of filial piety. YAN Hei-lok from S.1R won the Merit Award in the Junior Secondary School section, showcasing an encouraging performance.

The 23rd Graduation Ceremony was successfully held on 29th May 2026. It was our greatest honour to have Mr. CHEUNG Tat-cheong Cooke, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of St. James’ Settlement to officiate at the Graduation Ceremony and present certificates to S.6 graduates.

In his speech, Mr. CHEUNG encouraged graduates to follow the teachings of God while pursuing their life goals. Reflecting briefly on the backstory of Christian education in Hong Kong, he asked graduates to cherish the spiritual guidance they have received at school.

The ceremony concluded with a graduate performance carefully prepared by the S.6 students. Centered around the theme “Establish”, the performance looked back on their six years of school life through singing, dancing, and a photo slideshow. The graduates expressed their gratitude for their teachers’ guidance and the support of their peers. As they bid farewell and looked ahead to the future, they also passed on the torch of the Sun Kei spirit to their juniors.

The 31st Teacher Appreciation Scheme – Sun Kei Outstanding Teachers Awards were presented on the 27th of May. The teacher awardees were selected by all teachers and students respectively in recognition of their professional education endeavours and in appreciation for their dedication.

Organised by the Chinese Language Department and co-organised by the Chinese Society, the quiz competition ‘Chinese Cultural Zhuang Yuan Hong’ was successfully held in the weekly assembly on 26th May.

Throughout the competition, the hosts enthusiastically asked a series of questions, while all teachers and students alike were fully engaged in the ongoing interaction between the stage and the audience.

In addition, student representatives from the Chinese Society staged a mock court trial, who announced the list of winning students in various Chinese Language competitions through a short drama. These included the S.1 Storytelling Competition, the S.2 ‘Our Family, Our Lives’ Story Performance Competition 2026, S.3 Stage Play and Script Adaptation Competition, and the S.4 Historical and Cultural Travel Film Production Competition.
