Themed ‘How to guide children in discovering their interests and developing their career planning?’, the second Parents’ Talk cum S.3 Parents’ Night was successfully held on 6th March, 2026. We were honoured to invite Ms. TO Lai-ping, a Certified Marriage and Family Therapist at the Hong Kong Marriage and Family Therapy Association, to serve as the guest speaker and share her professional insights regarding parent-child communication. The attending parents benefited a lot from the session.

Following the Parents’ Talk, the S.3 Parents’ Night was held to inform parents of the school’s senior form class arrangements regarding the New Senior Secondary curriculum and the subject combinations for the upcoming academic year. This helped parents grasp crucial information about their children’s elective choices and fully prepare them for the transition to senior forms.

The annual Sun Kei Book Fair, entitled ‘Reading: A Glimpse into the Future’, was held between 4th and 6th March, 2026.

The book fair featured various activities, including ‘Storyteller’, where students shared their books of choice during lunchtime, and ‘A Letter to the Future’, which invited students to write letters to their future selves.

Reading is not only about absorbing knowledge, but also a process of engaging in a dialogue with our inner selves. Through stories, perspectives, and life experiences found in books, we can gradually discover who we are and what we want to become. During the book fair, students and teachers actively participated, fostering a vibrant reading atmosphere throughout the school campus.

Highlights

From 19th to 25th February, 2026, twenty students from our school visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE), led by Vice-Principal Ms. NG Wai-chun and Ms. Lee Man-wai, for a 7-day learning exchange tour.

The journey covered three major cities – Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah – featuring a diverse range of activities. Students and teachers strolled through traditional souks and desert landscapes, experiencing local customs and natural scenery firsthand. They also witnessed the United Arab Emirates’s growing development in technology, architecture and urban planning by visiting modern landmarks, such as the Burj Khalifa, Museum of the Future, and Louvre Abu Dhabi. Through exchanges with local businesses and universities, students not only deepened their understanding of the national ‘Belt and Road Initiative’, but also broadened their international horizons.

To encourage S.6 students in preparing for the HKDSE actively, our school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) held the meaningful ‘S6 Cheer Up Station’ cheering activity on 11th February, 2026.

A group of PTA committee members carefully designed and handmade star-shaped crossbody bags as gifts for all S.6 students. The star-shape refers to ‘Reaching for the Stars’, symbolising parents’ aspirations for their children to deliver their best performance and achieve excellent results in the HKDSE. The crossbody bags symbolise that parents are always the students’ stronger support, and they will accompany them through every step of their examination journey. We hereby wish S.6 students the best of luck in their public exam – may they all reach for the stars!

To promote Chinese culture and enhance students’ interest and understanding of traditional heritage, the school hosted a series of booth activities in the Grace Hall and Mini Hall on 11th February, 2026 for Chinese Culture Day. These activities included trying on traditional ornaments and workshops of Chinese knots, embroidery, incense sachets, lanterns, opera masks, etc. This allowed students to experience the depth of Chinese culture through interactive engagement.

The Chinese teachers dressed in traditional Chinese attire to join in the fun with the students. In the lively and joyful atmosphere, students experienced various traditional features firsthand, nourishing their passion and sense of belonging to Chinese culture.

Highlights

From 9th to 11th February, 2026, Sun Kei hosted 44 teachers and students from Santa Laurensia High School, our Sister School in Indonesia.

During the visiting period, the Indonesian students participated in a series of carefully planned activities by our school, including a guided campus tour, lesson auditing, sports activities, a Chinese Calligraphy workshop, a glutinous rice ball making workshop, etc. In addition, visiting students also visited the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, deepening their understanding of Hong Kong’s art and history through these diverse cultural visits.

Over the three-day exchange, students from both schools interacted earnestly in classes, sports, and workshops. Through sharing their life experiences and cultural stories, they not only broadened their cultural horizons but also strengthened the long-standing friendship between both schools.

To enhance students’ English writing interest and creative thinking, our school invited Mr Vince SIU, founder of local educational startup Press Start Academy, to host the ‘Fiero! Creative English Story Writing Workshop’ on 9th February, 2026. The workshop enabled students to master their storytelling skills through an enjoyable gaming experience.

The Press Start Academy focuses on game-based learning experiences. Its card game ‘Fiero!’ takes inspiring creativity as its core. In the workshop, Mr. SIU guided students to draw different cards to gain story inspiration and discuss with their groupmates. They gradually developed their own story concepts, allowing them to learn through play and master their story writing skills.

The Sun Kei 27th Anniversary Celebration activity was held on 6th February, 2026. Planned by our All-round Leaders, the event featured a series of spectacular programmes, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

The event was tied together by a comedic skit, interspersed with study tour experience sharing, allowing everyone to experience the benefits and joy of learning outside the classroom. The Chinese Orchestra expressed the beauty of traditional art through its melodious music. The teacher-student interactive games and teachers’ singing performance brought the atmosphere to its climax, highlighting the deep bonds between Sun Kei’s students and teachers.

Highlights

To cultivate artistic creativity and positive values, led by NET Mr. Paul HODGSON, eight of our students visited Ocean Park on 6th February, 2026 and participated in the ‘Animal Photo Poetry Creative Challenge’ co-organised by the Education Bureau and Ocean Park.

The activity combined photography and English poetry writing, encouraging students to draw inspiration from nature. The students explored various parts of the park and observed the animals carefully. They captured moments that moved them and composed English poetry based on their photos to promote positive values, such as cherishing life and respecting nature, through words and images.
