[Seed Parent Programme: Online Workshop] was held on the evenings of 8th March, 22rd March, 12th April and 26th April. The workshop, whose theme was [How to adopt “Positive Parenting Skills” to tackle the challenge of new normal with your children], was conducted by Mr. KWOK Kai-chun Remus, Service Supervisor of the Positive Education Laboratory, Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences, City University of Hong Kong and his team members. Mr. KWOK encouraged parents to establish positive family education through positive psychology. The 4 workshops consisted of topics like establishing positive languages through the use of character strengths (to build up positive image through the use of positive language), building positive emotion (to understand the needs behind each emotion), positive parenting with a gentle and firm attitude (to improve problematic behaviors of children) and self-repairing (to learn self-compassion so that parents have the strength to face challenges together with their children). Parents actively participated and were benefited from the programme. An average of 93 parents attended each workshop and 49 parents attended all workshops.
