The school believes that the ideal outcome of education may be achieved through home-school communication and trust. Students will grow up healthily in a pleasant learning environment with mutual collaboration between families and the school. The school encourages parents to participate proactively in various aspects to nurture students, including the Parent Volunteer Team.

 

Aims

  1. Parents may get to know the school more thoroughly, and to strengthen the family relationship.
  2. Parents may show their concern to the students and the support to school.
  3. Strengthening the partnership between parents and the school, enriching the human resources and enhancing the learning environment.

 

Scope of Services (job allocation will be arranged according to the preference and ability of parent volunteers)

  1. To assist the school administration work, such as printing, counting and distribution of materials, production of boards, banners, materials for activities, souvenirs, serving as the volunteer staff on Sports Days, hall invigilation and leading students to participate in competitions, etc.
  2. To assist in the Green School implementation, such as decoration and gardening, and serving as the Green Parent Volunteers.
  3. To assist in the administration of Parents’ Resources Centre, such as loan services of parents' library materials, books wrapping and arrangement, etc.
  4. To assist in preparing teaching materials, such as typing, scanning, searching online information, newspaper cutting, computer design and typesetting, etc.
  5. To assist in receptions (or photography / video recording and editing) in various school events, such as the Secondary School Campus Visit, Secondary One Admission Talk, Parents’ Night, Parents’ Talk / Community Parents’ Talk, activities organised by the Parent-Teacher Association, visits from other schools or organisations, etc.
  6. To serve as the instructors of lunchtime activities or interest classes, so as to share their skills and experiences, such as knitting, cooking, making pastry snacks, decorations, calligraphy, etc.
  7. Others

 

Service Hours

  1. Designated 2-hour time slot once every 2 weeks (school days), and / or
  2. Upon request whenever necessary (other time / evenings on special activities / Saturdays).

 

Awards

  1. ‘Outstanding Parent Volunteer Appreciation Certificate’ and ‘Parent Volunteer Appreciation Certificate’ will be awarded.

 

Others

  1. To enrich social life and relationship, different gatherings will also be arranged, such as parent volunteer party, parent volunteer tea gathering and various interest classes, etc.
  2. The contact person of the parent volunteer team or the staff of the General Office will contact parents who are interested in participating in volunteer services, and arrange the appropriate service period according to their preferences.
  3. Credits of the ‘Parent Academy’: 20 credits will be awarded to a parent signing up to be the Parent Volunteer and / or receiving a Parent Volunteer Appreciation Certificate each time (both First Term and Second Term, total 2 times a year). 50 credits will be awarded to a parent volunteer receiving an Outstanding Parent Volunteer Appreciation Certificate (both First Term and Second Term, total 2 times a year). 20 credits will be awarded to a parent volunteer attending the parent volunteer training, award ceremony or specific gatherings each time.
