Ms. WONG Wing-ka led six of our Biology students to Paris, France from 23rd to 28th October, 2024 to participate in the 2024 International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (iGEM), in which they achieved the Silver Medal.

Our school, together with Pui Ching Middle School, Wah Yan College, Kowloon, Pope Paul VI College and Tsung Tsin Christian Academy, formed our team “HK-United”. Our team conducted research on our topic “Synthesis of Human Ginseng peptide TP-1 and Lupine Peptide P5 Fusion Proteins with Potential Value in the Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases”, which fostered the decrease in production costs of newly discovered potential medications.

In addition to participating in competitions, students also visited various landmarks and historical monuments in Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Palace, Palace of Versailles and the Paris City Hall. The travelling experience not only enhanced their knowledge of French history and culture, but also expanded their international horizons.
