To promote students’ global vision and humanistic qualities, our school organised Humanities Week from 12th to 17th November 2025. Themed ‘The Future I See’, the activity was a synergy of Humanities knowledge with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through a series of lectures, tours, competitions, and exhibitions, it provided a rich learning experience for Sun Kei teachers and students.
Firstly, aside from senior form students promoting environmental ideas during morning assemblies, we were also honored to invite speakers from relevant fields to deliver three lectures. In a senior form assembly, Certified Public Accountant Mr. WU Chun-Sing shared on ‘Pathways to Decent Work and Sustainable Consumption’. In a junior form assembly, two officers of the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) presented on the ‘Impact of Climate Change’. There was also a talk on ‘Sustainable Development and Me’ by UNICEF HK to S.1-2 students during lunchtime. Moreover, the S.3 Inter-class Humanities Quiz Competition was held.
Meanwhile, exhibitions were also arranged on campus. On the first day, the Chinese History, Geography, Economics, and THS Societies set up exhibition and game booths during lunchtime, so that visiting students could learn through fun activities. A 4-day ‘Sustainable Development’ thematic book fair was held during lunchtime, where a series of relevant books were selected for students to read and borrow. The Planning Department’s Mobile Exhibition Centre also paid a visit to Sun Kei, allowing visiting students to learn about Hong Kong’s current status and future vision for urban planning. Furthermore, a group of S.5 students visited The Mills in Tsuen Wan on 13th November (Thursday) and participated in ‘The Mills Tour’ and the IFEC FinEd Hub tour.
We are grateful for the strong support from various external institutions and the meticulous planning by teachers-in-charge and academic societies, both of which are key to the success of Humanities Week!
