The “Short Essay Writing Competition for Secondary School Students 2025” was organised by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Department of English and Communication. Participating senior-form students were asked to submit a short essay themed “AI and Me”, which was evaluated by the judging panel according to its creativity, originality, insightfulness and writing style.
Among the over 1,100 submissions, four of our students’ submissions stood out and achieved an excellent result. Among them, HO Hoi-ching from Class 5S won the Gold Award and was invited to read aloud her award-winning entry at the Award Presentation Ceremony on September 19. Her essay will also be published in an anthology by PolyU Press.
Our school’s awardees are as follows:

5S | HO Hoi-ching | Gold Award |
